Tipton - Large format collage series for hoardings.

In Spring 2025 in conjunction with Multistory, across a short series of workshops with the local history group and a local womens group we explored content to feature in a series of 15 collage artworks that would feature on the hoardings around a new housing development in the town centre.

Historic local archive images, portraits of the workers in the area from the 1960s by photographer Nick Hedges combined with textures, patterns and illustrated elements to create this series of 12 large format collages that featured on the 120 metre site fencing.

Tipton Library, a beautiful building from 1906, features striking coloured stained glass windows. Taking references from the colours used in the glass I extracted a colour scheme which was used across all the works.
